Chronology
Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails reunite to face a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers beyond anything they’ve faced before. With their abilities surpassed, the Sonic team must find an unlikely alliance. The filmmakers of the previous films have cited the single-player game Sonic the Hedgehog (2001) and Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) as inspiration. The film also draws on narrative elements from the Saturday morning animated television series Sonic the Hedgehog (1993). Shadow’s story begins much like Sonic’s.
