A nice and sweet TV series!
When maple syrup producer Ruth Landry sees her livelihood attacked by greedy competitors who were once her friends, she hatches a plan to get revenge and shake up the industry. Loosely based on the theft of $18 million worth of maple syrup from a Quebec warehouse in 2011-2012; five people were sentenced to prison.
It is based on a true story but
The whole thing is good entertainment and nothing more. Far from the real story you can google.
The pace is fast and the episodes are short, which makes it even more appealing
And YES, as a local, everyone hates the maple cartel and it highlights a real problem with free trade. I don’t have to write more or less, but if I want this review to be seen, I have to write at least six hundred characters.
