The bereavement therapist begins to tell her clients exactly what she is thinking
Disregarding her training and ethics, she finds herself making huge changes in people’s lives – including her own. The "Shrinking" share the key moments that defined their characters in Season 1 and reveal who did the best Harrison Ford impression..
Eventually, Goldstein talked to Ford and sold him the role
When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence were asked how they managed to get Harrison Ford on the show, Segel said Goldstein originally wanted a “Harrison Ford type,” and it was made to listen to people like Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they should at least take it to Ford first because they thought he would immediately turn it down, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford was involved in the project, which attracted interest from other major actors.

Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince her, but he’s cheered up nonetheless.. I’ve watched the first two episodes and find them fascinating.
I also respect the way he presents it – he doesn’t do anything that other therapists have to do and it’s very clear
Part of the reason for this is that I realized that there is something about reality-based therapists who need therapy and want to break through to their patients to unexpectedly break through their own issues. It hasn’t gotten into the silly situations of other shows like Loot, but it’s still early in the series and I’m still watching it.
show is not for everyone
That said, I enjoy the depth of the characters that don’t feel like caricatures; they are people I want to get to know.
