IN LATAVA, when the often-fired Walt (Shameik Moore) takes a job as a bartender and kicks off his shoes at the local AlleyCatz bowling alley, he feels like he’s finally found a home. With the AlleyCatz in financial trouble, Walt is pressured by former bowler and current hard-drinker Skunk (D’Arcy Cardenas) to embrace his role as the greatest bowler to ever grace this earth. While the pro tour is dominated by Walt’s love of big checks and in-your-face style of play, his opponents, including ratings-obsessed news anchor Angelo Powers and retired bowling legend Linda “The Crusher” Curson (Susan Sarandon), frantically try to snuff out Walt’s flame before it burns too brightly.
