Chronology
Ingrid (Julianne Moore) and Martha (Tilda Swinton) were close friends in their youth, when they worked together at the same magazine. Ingrid becomes an auto-fiction author and Martha becomes a war reporter, and they are separated by life circumstances. After years of no communication, they meet again in an extreme but strangely sympathetic situation.
