When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel , and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford to star in the series, Segel said that Goldstein initially wanted a "Harrison Ford type" and auditioned for people who looked like Ford.
Eventually, Goldstein spoke to Ford and sold him the role
Segel told Goldstein that they had to at least take it to Ford first, thinking that he would immediately reject it, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had brought the project, generating interest from other notable actors. Harrison Ford is simply amazing in this show! His sassy demeanor and sharp tongue are now my life goal as I enter my senior years. He is hysterical and I need more of that in my life!!!
This show is so beautifully written
Also, if you are a Jason Segel fan, you will not be disappointed. It has well-rounded characters dealing with real issues. It delivers all the feels and leaves you wanting more each week.
